Mountain man baker. New here and I will probably just read for quite a while. Just made two double crust recipe all butter pie dough for later. Going to try my hand at a fruit gallete. Forgive spelling and grammatical errors. Thx. :)

Welcome to the forum. A long time ago I had s little cook book of hillbilly cooking. Sounds like your style. Hope you enjoy.

While I am well traveled and been in many a foreign land, alas I am Appalachian American, no denying that. Mountain cooking has its roots in many places. I also can fruits, preserves and the like and find that lard is working its way back into some of my baking. especially pie dough. Thanks for the response.
