    Cookie Pops

Has anyone made cookie pops before? I've made pushpop cakes an they came out pretty good and pretty. but, I want to make something different for a bunch of people and although the pushpop cakes would work, buying the containers is a bit pricier than it was last time and I just don't have...

A recipe for chocolate chips cookie... in cookie cutter forms?

Did a quick search because curiosity got me. LOL Ingredients 1 c unsalted butter 1/3c granulated sugar 1/2 c light-brown sugar 1 large egg yolk 2 tsp vanilla extract 2 ½ c all-purpose flour {I think they got a little overzealous with the flour…try 2 cups first, and work your way up} ½ tsp...

A recipe for chocolate chips cookie... in cookie cutter forms?

I've only done sugar cookies with cuttrs, but I've never done a chocolate chip cookie of any kind. Is it possible to roll these out? Although if they melt into a circle, the form given will become distorted. Hmmm...someone NEEDS to come up with a way to make shaped chocolate chip cookies. LOL

    Baking for Baby?

I started by making a sort of apple pie, but deconstructed...or destroyed. LOL I'd make it in a ramekin with very small sized apples pieces. Then, because the top crust was crispier, I'd remove that for myself and serve some apples with some of the softer undercrust. It was always a win...

    Pumpkin, pumpkin everywhere!

I'm kind of jealous right now. Cooler temps? Wish we had some of that for a while. ;) Where I live nothing much goes uop in pumpkin except for Starbucks lattes. LOL Pumpkin cake and bread are easily found throughout the year, BUT pumpkin pie and pumpkin flan are usually seen more often...

Do you have a live herb garden in your kitchen?

No I don't have one. I did try making one, but then we went through a drought (still are) and it just died. It was an outdoor one though because my kitchen is too small. If we move I would love to make one like the one with the jars and the plank. I love how that looks! ALthough, I would...

CupCakes are having holes after baked

Agree. I think that may be an oven door opening result. It happened to my best friend once. She said she was excited because it was her first time and she wanted to make sure they didn't burn. Her light bulb in the oven had gone out so she kept checking on them. 'but I open the door only a...

Lazy Woman Bread (or Kids Bread)

I asked my partner (he drinks it) he says it can easily be 50% or more. He also told me they have a legal kind but 'it's not REAL pitorro" because they have to make it within the legal limits of alcohol. (He made a face.) LOLOL He says the legal kind is good but it's not "gooooood". LOLOLOL...

Lazy Woman Bread (or Kids Bread)

If you like homemade liquors you may like our "pitorro". It's another traditional drink, especially around Xmas time. Difference between pitorro and coquito is that coquito is made with rum where as pitorro is a kind of rum itself...oh...and pitorro is illegal. ;):D:D:D There are lot of rum...

Lazy Woman Bread (or Kids Bread)

Yes, it's a traditional drink from Puerto Rico. Some people even put chocolate in it. Yesterday I was at the store and saw they already have bottles out to sell. They were so pretty!!! I was telling my partner that all this coquito talk and the bottles may be a sign that I should make some...

Lazy Woman Bread (or Kids Bread)

So I checked and was corrected. LOL Coquito does NOT have egg. 'Girl, eggnog has eggs, coquito doesn't. THAT's the difference.' :D:D:D There are different amounts depending on who's making it but basically it's equal parts of condensed milk and evaporated milk coconut cream to taste 1 tsp...

    Cracking fondant!

It may be the icing sugar then. It's possibly absorbing the moisture from the fondant. Since you've used them before, maybe they changed recipes a bit or maybe the varying temperature. Try switching from the sugar to a "poof" with cornstarch. To make the poof use a handiwipe type of towel...

Lazy Woman Bread (or Kids Bread)

Personally, I've never done either. I think what they use is evaporated milk...or is it condensed milk? LOL It's one of those (maybe both?) and eggs and rum and cinnamon I think. I don't drink it but every home I visit during the holidays ALWAYS has a bottle.

    Cracking fondant!

Are you using a nonstick mat? If you're not, what are you using to prevent it from sticking? Powdered sugar dries out the fondant and it may be causing the cracking. Try corn starch instead. Some people use shortening (a bit!) but personally....I don't like using shortening. Also, is the...

Lazy Woman Bread (or Kids Bread)

Yes we do, but we don't really eat the "rosca de reyes". It's mainly in Spain and Mexico. Here we are too busy eating "Arroz con gandules y pernil" and "arroz dulce" and "coquito". LOLOL In my home specifically, although I'm the baker I don't really have a sweet tooth. My partner does. Now...
