    Cobbler Thread

My family only did crisps, so I don't have much experience with cobbler. They are definitely delicious, but I don't know the tricks to making a really good one.

    Tiramisu Cheesecake

That one looks heavenly. I wish I had the time and money to try it right now. I too love cheesecakes and tiramisu.

    Girl Scout Cheesecake Time

Looks really rich. That seems to be the common issue I have with recipes for something inspired by a different sweet. They all seem to be over the top when your do that. It might be worth a try though. I like the flavors involved.

    One hour cinnamon rolls

I've made cinnamon roles before, but I've never done it in an hour. I bet I wouldn't be able to pull it off that fast since I'm. Not very good at the rolling out part.

    Food colouring

I don't really use it because it's not natural, but when I did I recall it came in a bottle similar to essential oils bottles where the opening is made so you can easily control how many drops you get.

What is your favorite sugar free dessert?

If you can eat applesauce because apples are supposed to be low glucemic, it makes a great substitute for a large portion of the sugar. I have made brownies with applesauce with great success as well as muffins. I don't have a favorite sugar free item as it's not necessary to my diet, but that's...

    Baked Cinnamon Apple Chips

I have not made apple chips, but they sound great. I have made dehydrated apple slices that were seasoned with cinnamon, but that's a whole different thing, but another healthy snack option. I like dried fruit a lot as a snack. For me it's easier to eat it dries because it's not messy and I...

Baking Mix, or Biscuits From Scratch?

I grew up using Bisquick, so I am very familiar with it. It is so easy! I have also made them from scratch and thought the scratch recipes usually tasted better. Bisquick is great if you don't have time, but I don't think it's really that healthy.

    Stainless Steel Skillet

I have a Belgique one I have had for many years and am very happy with. I don't know how much is costs as it was a gift, but I don't think it's necessary to spend a huge amount of money, just make sure your pan is good and think so you don't have issues with things burning too quickly.

    Chocolate Cake

If you are planning to make it again, try adding one more egg. Brownies have less eggs than cakes and I believe that is one of the primary reasons that they are more fishy than cake like.

    Best Cookie Experiment

If you are the experimenting type when it comes to cookies, have you come up with any big winners? I've experimented a lot with including natural sweeteners like fruit and I think pear sauce was a huge score. It then I love pears, so that might be a little exotic for some tastes.

Spices in the kitchen (a guide)

That is very detailed and handy. I'll have to save it for future reference when I am feeling creative and trying new ideas.

    Bad egg?

You should return those eggs to the store. Eggs should have a fairly long shelf life if they weren't dated sell by today. The store will want to know if there is a problem with their distributor because if your eggs are rotten before they are past date, something definitely went wrong somewhere...

    Cookie swaps

That sounds like so much fun! I should organize something like that in the fall when everyone is more into baking than they would be in the summer. I think that would make such a lovely girls party.

    Sugar Free Baking

I think the best thing to do is use fruit as a sweetener, for example applesauce. Apples are low glycemic, even though they are sweet. I would avoid any artificial sweeteners because they are chemicals not meant to be consumed really.

    Microwave baking

I've seen some old cook books showing you how to make pretty much anything, including baked goods, in the microwave. Considering the hot weather, this sounds kind of intriguing as microwaving won't heat up the kitchen to unbearable temperatures. Have you ever tried baking in the microwave? Did...

    Fudgy or cake-like brownies?

Those look like Betty Crocker box mix brownies. I almost recognize the picture. I usually make mine fudgey rather than add the extra egg for cake brownies. I think the cake brownies are probably healthier though since you have more protein to balance all that sugar and refines flour.

    My cake was too moist

I would guess not enough eggs. Nutella has quite a bit of oil in it. Perhaps it was too oily as well? I don't know what the batter looked like before you baked it though.

    Gingerbread Bars

I love gingerbread so much. I think I like these kind of gingerbread things better than the traditional cookies though. I agree with increasing the spices a little bit. Most recipes are a bottle conservative on that, at least to those of us who really like our spice.

I have purchased them many times, but have never thought of making them myself thanks for sharing the recipe. They definitely don't seem too hard to make. I love how they aren't overlybsweer cookies
