Anisette cookies

Favorite cookie of all time.
Anisette Cookies
YIELD:3 dozen cookies
Ingredients
* 1 cup butter, softened

* 3/4 cups sugar

* 1 teaspoon anise extract

* 1 teaspoon lemon extract

* 3 cups flour

* 3 teaspoons baking powder

* 1/4 teaspoon salt

* 1 egg

Glaze Ingredients:
* 1 cup powdered sugar

* milk (eyeball it, no specific measurement, you choose your consistency)

* colored sprinkles

Procedure
* Pre-heat oven to 350 F.

* Beat together butter and sugar until creamy.

* Stir in anise and lemon

* Add dry ingredients - blend together.

* Add eggs. Blend.

* Form dough into 1-inch balls and place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.

* Bake for 15 minutes.

* Cool and glaze.

Cool recipe, it honestly sounds like a really good one. I love easy recipes with few ingredients, those are my real weakness to be honest :) I'll surely try this one out next time I feel in the mood to bake, I already have most of those ingredients nearby ;)

These sound so good !! My dad loves anisette cookies and I don't think he has had them in many years. :( Thank you for posting this. Planning on heading to the store later today to pick up some of the ingredients I need and will be making them for him this weekend!!

These cookies almost sound like old fashioned honey cookies. They do sound good and look easy to make, thanks for sharing.
