Baked Yam

This is a native dessert made of that violet root crop that we call Ubi but internationally known as yam. It is a usual dessert during the Christmas season that people cook in the olden days. But in this modern time, there are bakeshops that sell a variety of baked yam.

The ingredients are yam, sugar, condensed milk, coconut milk. And the procedure for baking is to boil the yam so it is easier to peel and grate then mixed with other ingredients in a pie pan and bake for 1 and 1/2 hours. That simple for cooking that baked yam.

Well I have never been a big fan of the yam, or the sweet potato, and even chocolate and marshmallows could not save the dish for me, although it was a little better. This one does sound like a little less yam flavor itself, though, so maybe that would help me a little bit.
