For some reason I’ve never been able to make a good brownie from scratch. They have always come out bitter. I don’t have a specific recipe because it’s been years since I’ve made from scratch brownies. I always resort to using a boxed mix.
Does anyone have any really good brownie recipes that you can share with me?

One of the first things I learned to bake were brownies, and the recipe I learned on is still the one I reach for when I need that taste of chocolate. Try these:

Saucepan Brownies

1 stick butter or margerine
2 ounces unsweetened chocolate

melt above in a saucepan over med-low heat. Do not burn the chocolate.

Add to the melted chocolate mixture:
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
3/4 cup flour
dash of salt
1/2 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Spread evenly in an 8" x 8" pan that has been sprayed with Pam

Bake at 375 degrees for 25 minutes.

Thank you Margot! I’m definitely going to try this recipe.
