Can I bake a cake in a tomato can?

We know it's common to bake a cake in a can. But is a tomato can ok? It is lined. Non-BPA, but lined nevertheless (I assume all tomato cans are).
It just happens to be the best size for our planned cake.

Manufacturers do not advise baking in cans—period. They don’t care if the canned is lined or not, they don’t design their cans to be baked in.
