Cup of Butter...

hello all

I am new to baking

I would like to try and bake a lemon, raspberry and poppyseed cake next week for my girlfriends birthday.

I think the recipe is maybe American and it calls for 3 cups of butter to be used... does anyone know how many grams this is?

3 US cups of butter is about 680g. That's quite a lot of butter! Are you sure it says cups and not sticks?

That sounds like a big cake, pretty adventurous for a new baker! Although it sounds really yummy, can you post the recipe?
