Cupcakes for all Occasions

A recent thread asked about cupcake decorating for a baby shower. That got me thinking, what are some great ideas for decorating cupcakes for other occasions? We've seen some cute prank ideas and other stuff, but what else can we come up with?

For a wedding shower, I'd go with white cake, silver cupcake papers, white ribbon, and white icing. I'd add decorations in the color theme of the wedding, such as flowers or wedding bells. I just love white, and weddings are a great excuse to use it.

I like to go really simple and use sprinkles. They come in lots of colors, so it you made mini cupcakes, you would have a lot of them and can use different colored sprinkles and then arrange them into a pattern on your serving platter.

I think those look perfect for any wedding... also depending on the wedding color theme and so on. I personally favor the purple ones, not sure I'd offer cupcakes in a wedding reception though. But I guess it depends on the culture of the couple
