Tips for Perfect Apple Pie

Hey guys,
I've only just joined the forum and have very little experience baking. I'm just getting into it all but I would love to hear some of your tips for making the perfect apple pie for the colder months.
Any advice is appreciated whether it be about crust or filling!

Welcome to the forum @Hans :)

I haven't made apple pie very often, I tend to do things like apple crumble. However my advice re fruit would be the same - use a mix of cooking apples and eating apples. The cooking apples dissolve to make a kind of sauce, and the eating apples maintain some texture.
