While I've never been a big fan of banana bread, personally, I accidentally created a recipe that everyone raves about. When I was fairly new to baking, a friend asked me to bake banana bread. I misread the ingredients and instead of a cup of granulated sugar, I used a cup of packed brown sugar (these were the days before I realized how important it is to weigh ingredients). I've converted the recipe to metric measurements and frequently bake it for my wife's office. I named the recipe "Whitney's Banana Bread" after the friend who requested it. She has since passed in a tragic manner. So, while I've never been a big fan of banana bread, this is one of my most prized recipes.
