Does anyone have a good recipe for ginger bread? I know this seems like a odd time of year to be asking. But I am looking to perfect it before the holidays. I have made ginger bread before and it was not bad but it was not they way I wanted it. It seemed like something was missing that I could not put my finger on. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Gingerbread is delicious no matter what time of year it is! 
Here's a recipe that I've done before - I like lots of ginger:

Also if you want something a bit different, there is a type of gingerbread available in the UK which is completely different - dense chewy base with a crumb topping. It is made in a tiny shop in Grasmere in the Lake District, but here is a recipe for something similar:
