Hi, I'm new to baking as well and also planning to make my own wedding cake in 2.5 months. I have no experience at all in baking. So I watch some YouTube videos and they make it look so easy, am I overestimating my ability to bake a wedding cake? So far, I only baked some egg tarts and still working to perfectionate them. Although they were not that bad and the dough was pretty good. Should I just bake my own or save the trouble and buy a cake? Thank you for the comment.

Welcome to the forum @Doraemonish :) I have split out your post into a new topic.

I'd say that if you have no experience baking cakes, then doing your own wedding cake might be a bit much. How long have you got until your wedding? If there's plenty of time to practice then I see no reason why not though. Wedding cakes are usually done shortly before the wedding (depending on the type of cake), which can be a very busy and stressful time, so it's worth bearing that in mind too!

I've only made a few basic cakes, but once you get the hang of it and some help from here.I'm sure you can pull it off

start baking a lot of cakes now :)
