Can someone please help me with a Christmas cake dilemma? I make Deli Smiths' Creole or Classic Christmas cake for friends and family each year. I usually make the square ones, then halve them. This year I think I want to make lots of small round cakes. I have 6-and-a-half-inch cake tins I think would be a perfect size.

The thing is, I can't work out how long to bake them for. I take it that if I am using half the ingredients then it won't take the full baking time?

Does anyone have a smaller Christmas Cake recipe (not the tin can one, it is too small) or know how to work out the baking times?

Time is only a rough estimate , ovens vary so its better to just bake it until its done.
heavy cakes usually take 45 mins but thats only for reference, you still need to check it every 10 minutes starting from when the mix firms up.
