How Do I Make Buttermilk?

Does anyone know how to make buttermilk? I've always wondered if it is easy to make your own. Has anyone got a good recipe for this? I'm told it is an old fashioned recipe but delicious! Many thanks.

All the substitutions that I've read consist of 1 tablespoon of lemon juice or vinegar added to 1 cup of milk. You let it sit for 5 minutes until the milk curdles. If you want to make a big batch, just follow the ratio. I think it might be best to use raw/unpasteurized milk as the fermentation will be stronger. Maybe let it sit with the acid in room temperature until curdled, then you can store it in the fridge. Good luck!
