I’m looking for some new meal ideas using hamburger meat for weeknight dinners. I’m tired of the usual burgers and tacos and am hoping to find some kid-friendly options that are a bit different.

What are some creative or delicious meals you make with hamburger meat? I’m interested in recipes that are easy to prepare and would be a hit with the whole family.

Thank you in advance for your suggestions!

I totally understand the struggle of wanting to switch things up with hamburger meat! Here are some kid-friendly meal ideas that are easy to prepare and sure to please the whole family:

  1. Cheesy Beef Quesadillas: Just brown the hamburger meat, add some taco seasoning, and then load it into tortillas with cheese. Cook them on a skillet until golden and crispy, and serve with salsa or guacamole.
  2. Hamburger Meat Casserole: Brown the meat and mix it with cooked pasta, marinara sauce, and cheese. Top it with breadcrumbs for a crunchy finish, and bake until bubbly. It’s a one-pan wonder that’s perfect for leftovers!
  3. Stuffed Bell Peppers: Mix cooked rice, browned hamburger, diced tomatoes, and spices. Stuff the mixture into halved bell peppers and bake until the peppers are tender. Kids love the colorful presentation!
  4. Meatball Subs: Make meatballs using the ground beef and your favorite seasonings, then bake them. Serve in sub rolls with marinara sauce and melted cheese. Super easy and fun to eat!
  5. Sloppy Joes: A classic! Mix the browned meat with ketchup, mustard, and a bit of brown sugar, then serve on buns. You can add some finely chopped veggies for extra nutrition.
  6. Beef and Cheese Stuffed Shells: Fill cooked pasta shells with a mixture of cooked hamburger, ricotta cheese, and spinach, then top with marinara sauce and cheese before baking.
  7. Beef Fried Rice: Stir-fry the hamburger meat with veggies and cooked rice, then scramble in an egg and season with soy sauce for a quick and tasty meal.
These meals are not only simple to prepare but also allow for some creativity with flavors and ingredients. I hope you find these ideas helpful, and happy cooking! Custom Popcorn Boxes

My 14-year-old grandson is probably the pickiest eater in the world, but he likes Japanese flavors (mostly because they are on the sweet side) so an Asian-inspired rice bowl works well. He likes Jasmine rice (although I prefer brown), so we make that in the rice cooker, then I cook crumbled ground beef or chicken with a little ginger and garlic (powdered; mustn't have any chunks of real garlic in there!) and just a touch of soy and mirin to moisten. We serve this buffet style so everyone can make their own bowl: rice, meat, and condiments such as diced veggies, sesame seeds, hot sauce, teriyaki sauce, whatever you want. He won't eat mostof the add-ins, but will sometimes put a spoonful of sesame seed on his meat and rice, and I think he really likes it best because he can put it together himself. You can vary the flavors of the meat infinitely to mimic other cuisines as your family prefers (southwest, middle-east, Korean, etc.)
