Learning to bake, can someone give me tips? i'ts my first time baking a cake

For a project i am doing, I want to learn to make and decorate a cake.

keep it simple. find a video on youtube, you need to see it done.
If you don't have a mixer its easier to use boxed cake mix.
Learning to decorate isn't done on cakes, its far batter to practice on the table, scrape it up and do it again.
