Hi folks — I’m buying a dough divider/rounder for tortilla production (~500–2000 balls/hour, dough hydration ~54%). What machines have you used that stand up well? Any brands or models you’d recommend (and ones to avoid)?” There are some off brands like INTbuying that are only 4-5K compared to better brands like erika that go for 16K. Are these expensive machines okay to buy used? thanks for any help.

duchess divider rounders might work, depends on the dough portion size.
But labor cost is $600+ week or up to $3K month. $36K yr.

Otherwise, if you're doing the numbers , finance an automated line, push a button and go.
New cost $30K is break even if you save $30K labor yr.
You also get to amortize the IRS write off over 5 years.

Hi thanks for your input. I am small shop cant justify automated line right now. I was buying a rounder divider to save some labor cost. Right now im rolling all by hand. Laborsome! Been looking at Duchess, Erika, and some other less expensive brands.
