Problematic chestnut bread

I'm reasonably adept at making bread often using 50/50 mix of spelt and wholemeal currently I'm trying to make make a love 50/50 spell and chestnut flour and I'm finding the mix very sticky even after substantial needing it's not going smooth and elastic am I doing something wrong
