Strawberry Pop cake

Has anyone else tried strawberry pop cake? My mom makes it quite a bit and I love it. It tastes so good and sweet. Sometimes she adds strawberries to the top. For those who have tried it and made it, is there anything special you add? She even did this once with orange. It tasted very yummy.

Do you have a recipe? I'd love to make an orange cake or maybe even a grape cake. What was used for icing? I'm very interested in experimenting and making this.

Yes. I do. Grandma is getting it for me right now. LOL.

1 cup strawberry soda
yellow cake mix
one small box of strawberry jello
one small box vanilla instant pudding
1 small container cool whip
1/2 Cup milk

Make the cake according to directions. Let it cool.

Mix the cup of strawberry soda with the strawberry jello, until jello dissolved.

Poke holes in cake with toothpicks all over.

Use a dropper to put the soda/jello mixture into the holes. ( I've used a spoon)

Take vanilla pudding mixture, half a cup of milk and mix until dissolved.

Fold cool whip into the pudding mixture gently

when done, frost cake with cool whip mixture.

refrigerate when done.

You can top with strawberries and you may substitute the flavoring for any type you want.
