Sugar Substitutes

For my Diabetic guy, I have altered my Mommoms Oatmeal Cookie recipe by using Stevia(replacing white sugar) and S plenda Brown sugar . The cookie as a result is extra Crumbly ! He LOVES the cookie , BUT !!! Any helpful suggestions !??
