Taiyaki - the cutest Japanese pastry!

I lived in Japan for a little while and I really miss Taiyaki, which are these cute fish shaped Japanese pastries. Don't worry - they don't taste or smell of fish, it's just purely the shape!

The outside has a vanilla-ish waffle taste, and they have a whole range of fillings like chocolate, custard, azuki bean (Japanese red beans)...and in the bottom picture it looks like perhaps they had a special Halloween one that is pumpkin flavored!

If you ever go to Japan check them out! They're delicious!

I loooooooove japanese culture so much!!!! Those pastries are absolutely gorgeous!!!! Some people mioght say it's odd to shape a vanilla or choco pastry into a fish, but to me it sounds like a great idea.
