I've been making many batches of these for various parties and buffets....any excuse for bringing out retro bakes! This time with Coronation chicken (arguably as retro as it gets!).

Tip: re-roll the pastry trimmings for the base (you don't need the bases to rise up much); that way you can focus on getting more of the rings from the "main" pastry that make the sides.

Thanks for sharing, I pinned it :D My oldest sister is obsessed with french cuisine, she served this for a party once and ever since I've been wondering how this is made! But I always forgot to look it up online, thanks for posting this, any suggestion for other fillings?

They do remind me of retro baked goods but I feel like they're having a bit of a resurgence!

For sweet fillings I like things like custard, whipped cream or chocolate mousse with fresh berries - so delicious!

I have no idea what you're talking about here but these look super fantastic. Things like these are a far cry from what I think I will be able to make in a hurry. Instead of Bakingfanatic I will rename you Bakingfantastic.
