I'm new and am just curious what everyone's cake to make themselves with the recipe?
Mine is my Chocolate Cake
1 cup flour
1 stick softened butter
1 cup sugar(not Splenda, makes it hard, dense and salty)
3/4 cup cocoa powder
1 tsp vanilla
Mix and pour in a greased baking pan and put in oven on 375° for 25-30 minutes.

That cake looks so simple! I think I'll make one today!
Do you ice it or leave it plain?
Maybe I will just top it with some whipped cream or ice cream.

Sometimes I leave it plain, or add whipped cream, or ice it with vanilla icing, or ice cream or just powder sugar over top. It is best warm, and can be heated a touch in the microwave the next day. It is so easy to double the recipe as well. :) Good luck!

Yum Yum...my favorite home-made cake would definitely have to be Orange Cake; I first try baking this cake at school for one of my practical exams and I have being baking it ever since.

Orange Cake Recipe
1/2 cup milk
3 eggs
1 3/4 cups sifted flour
1 1/4 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
zest of 1 orange
1/2 cup orange juice

Mix ingredients thoroughly with a wooden spoon, pour mixture in greased pan lightly dusted with flour. Preheat oven to 400 degrees bake for 1 hr 30 min

Yum!. What kind of cocoa powder works/tastes best?
I have Droste (dutch processed), Trader Joe's (natural) and Hershey's Dark (mixed).
