This caught my attention recently, and I had to do a double take when I read the ingredients.

The article emphasizes the use of Olive Oil in the cake, which isn't really far fetched. But then they call for a half of a teaspoon of white pepper! Is this supposed to play off the bitterness of the chocolate somehow? It sounds really odd and at first I thought it was a typo, but they also mention the pepper in the description of the cake too.
Anyone ever heard of putting pepper in a cake. Or even better, have any of you tried a recipe like this?
