Ice Cream Makers

My mother made the best home made ice cream ever. We had an old fashioned crank type ice cream machine. My dad would crank and us kids would take turns sitting on it to hold it still. I can still remember licking the ice cream off of the paddle when it was done while waiting for the rest of the ice cream to "age" in the freezer. All I can say is nothing tastes like home made ice cream. I don't know if it was cheaper or more expensive to make at home, all I know is that it is so much better tasting. A friend used to make home made vanilla ice cream with strawberries and fresh peaches added to it. Yum.
