We have a baked tart called empanadita which is related to the empanada which is a meat pie that is usually fried. But the smaller empanadita is baked and the fililng is something sweet like banana or sweet potato or candied fruit. I just don't know the details because I haven't had the opportunity to get the recipe but the flour is made into dough for the base of that tart. Once the filling is in place, the crust for the base is closed like a clover and lined up in the pan for baking.
I hope someone can post a recipe of this which is native not only to the Philippines but in Southeast Asia.
