Polish Cake

Years ago my Grandmother made something she called a Polish Cake....I would love to be able to recreate this recipe for my Grandaughter....It was a made in a round tin which was filled to the top. I contained glace cherries, walnuts and chocolate chunks. Does anyone remember anything like this and perhaps have a recipe?
