What is the best way to ensure cookies bake evenly?

Cookies are just like cakes. They can bake unevenly and be lumpy in areas. Normally, I try to avoid this scenario by sticking to a temperature of 350 degrees.

I like the way they come out different. I do not mind the odd shapes, lumpy look, or not too round looking.
I do love the taste, their own personality, of sort, and love to eat them while still warm.

If I wanted to make sure they baked evenly, I would cut them with a cutter, and would flatten the dough smoothly.

I love when my cookies come out differently. The way they look and the little bumps says that effort went into it. Having a cookie that looks to perfect says that it is more processed then homemade.
