Air pockets in buns

What could be a probable reason for air pockets in buns?

It's probably from pockets of air trapped in the dough when kneading.

Too much heavy kneading, not "knocking out" all the air bubbles.

Folding in too much air when kneading.

Too much yeast....can make the dough "gassy" when rising and can make air pockets inside the dough.

Letting the dough rise for too long before baking.
