My mother passed this recipe to me and my sisters. It is so yummy. We make it every fall. Using fresh picked apples is the best!
You need:
1 egg
1 Cup milk
1/2 cup sugar
1 tbl oil
2 cups flour
3 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
sliced apples
cinnamon and sugar
butter

Beat the egg. Add milk, then flour, then salt and baking powder, stirring with each ingredient.
Mix thoroughly, then add the oil.
Pour into greased pie tin.
Press in sliced apples... make sure they are standing up, and get as many as you can in there!
Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon
add pats of butter

Bake at 350 for 45 minutes.

This is awesome with a tiny bit of whipped cream. We also make it with plum slices instead, which makes a beautiful colorful Pflamenkuchen, though it doesn't hold up so well. I think this is one of those recipes that's better on the next day.

I have never tried it with whipped cream! I shall do that
And I agree about the next day, although honestly it's hard for me do that-- I want to eat it right away. It makes the house smell so yummy!
