Chocolate Rum Cake

Anyone know how to perfect a chocolate rum cake? Every time I attempt this one it comes out too gooey. I think I'm either missing a step or over thinking the entire recipe.

Do you have the particular recipe you use? It could be the recipe…. It could also be that you are undercooking the cake if it is gooey.

1/2 cup walnuts
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 stick butter
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 3/4 cup flour
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
4 tspn baking powder
1 tspn salt
1 cup chocolate pudding mix
3/4 cup whole milk
1/4 cup chocolate chips
3/4 cup rum
1 tbspn vanilla extract
4 large eggs

Where is the instruction part to the recipe? Or is this just something you made up on your own?

If you are going to soak a cake with alcohol, then you almost have to overbake it just a bit.
