Hello,

we specialize in gluten-free, grain-free, vegan dog treats. We use coconut oil, flaxseed meal, arrowroot flour, etc... Lately our treats seem to have some air pockets and have been flakey on the bottom. Can anyone recommend what causes this issue?
Thanks

Flakiness and air pockets in your vegan dog treats might be due to an imbalance in your ingredient ratios, like too little moisture or fat. It could also be caused by overmixing or an inaccurate oven temperature. Make sure your ingredients are fresh and mix until just combined. Also, let the treats cool completely on a wire rack before storing them. Try adjusting these factors and see if it improves the texture.
