The trick in this question is that I, like many members of my family, hate buttercream and quite dislike icing too!
But, I really want to make some Christmas cupcakes!!
I will need to stick a white circle of fondant over a:
1) Chocolate cupcake
2) Christmas spiced cupcake
I do not want to use buttercream / Frosting to do this!
Can you recommend some alternatives?
I think for the Christmas Spiced Cupcake I might use Marzipan, so will use some flavour of jam to stick it down...

Hi, just saw this. I use a small amount of water. Brush the top of the cupcake with water then press the fondant circle gently on.

You can use a few different things to stick fondant to your cupcakes without buttercream. Try brushing a thin layer of warmed fruit jam, corn syrup, or honey onto the cupcake before placing the fondant on top. For a neutral option, corn syrup works well and won’t change the flavor of your cupcakes. If you’re making Christmas spiced cupcakes, marzipan with a bit of jam is a great idea. Happy baking!
