Ingredients:

4 cups all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons sugar
1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 cup warm milk
1/4 cup warm water
2 tablespoons melted butter
1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Sesame seeds (optional)
Instructions:

In a bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes, or until it is frothy.
In a large bowl, combine flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture, warm milk, and melted butter. Mix until it forms a dough.
Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5-7 minutes, or until it is smooth and elastic.
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.
Punch down the dough and divide it into 8-12 equal portions. Shape each into a bun and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Let the buns rise in a warm place for another 30 minutes, or until they have doubled in size.
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Brush the buns with the beaten egg wash and sprinkle sesame seeds on top, if desired.
Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the buns are golden brown.
Allow the buns to cool on a wire rack before slicing and serving.
Enjoy your homemade burger buns!
