I am making knot rolls, the method where the ends are brought around and tucked into middle. I want to make them fairly small, about 3 inch across finished size. What dimensions should I roll the ropes out to? Thanks, murray

Funny you should ask, as I just stumbled upon a tutorial for this on the King Arthur Flour web site. The garlic knots they are demonstrating seem like they are quite a bit larger than you're doing, considering of course they're going to rise and get bigger from what they demo. You can see the knot is a little bigger than the size of the hand.

They say they are starting with 12-inch strips (about 30cm), so if you wanted them a tad smaller you should be able to scale a bit down in length and thickness. Is this the type of knot you meant?

I ended up not making knots, and I almost regret it.

Actually, looking at vid again, mine will a bit different. I will make a single overhand knot then tuck ends into center.
