I made my first cheesecake ever a few months back. I wanted something different and had bananas to use up, so I used a recipe on line for banana cheesecake. Of course, I should post this in the disaster forum, as I used way too much banana, but it actually came out ok! For the crust, the recipe called for golden vanilla oreo cookies. Hope you like it.

That looks great! I love how you used banana; it's different from your traditional cheesecake and that colour is beautiful. I might try making this banana cheesecake, seeing as how I always make the traditional; I top it off with whipped cream, chocolate shavings and some fresh strawberries. :) The first cheesecake I made was for my boyfriend's birthday, I spent HOURS decorating that thing and it took less than 5 minutes for it to be devoured!

Being your first cake it looks really tasty, well done!

I never thought of bananas either and look like I have a problem with bananas maturing and trying to find how to use them before they mature in excess.

This is a good option indeed

Thanks everyone! I just wished I could find the recipe again, I searched online, and then forgot to save it in favorites.
I am sure I can find it again with golden oreo cookie base....

I hope you do find it I would live to have that recipe. It sounds like a good dish to make for Christmas. It would be a different dessert to make from the usual.

Never heard of a banana cheesecake either. Thinking about it, it must have an interesting taste and texture. Definately one to try out, thanks!

I told a friend about this dessert and they can't wait to try this out either. They had never had a banana cheesecake before either and they are interested in how this will taste.

My mom always made my dad a cheesecake for Valentine's Day so I wanted to keep this tradition going with my husband. My first cheesecake I ever made took me two time to make the graham cracker crust from scratch. Almost in tears I made the filling and added the strawberries. Once the crust actually turned out pretty decent and I got everything together, it looked pretty near perfect. As a new wife and our first Valentines together I wanted it to be a perfect surprise and it turned out to be.

I don't like cheesecake... or bananas! Though that does look wonderful. I sure you feel very accomplished after finishing that. I might try that out for someone else, though.
