Birthday Cakes For Kids' Birthdays!

Now I can't take credit for the cake pictured below. Admittedly we got it from a wonderful non-profit bakery my wife found online. I am excited though to hear about or see really cool cakes you may have baked or bought for your childrens' birthday parties!!


This one below here is the Island of Sodor from the Thomas The Tank Engine franchise.

That's really cool! My mum always used to make really elaborate cakes for my birthdays. Some of the ones I remember are: Chomper from The Land Before Time, a clown, an octopus, dogs lying on a bed, and most recently, a grand piano (which she slaved over for my 18th last year!):

I hope some day, when I have my own kids, that I'll have enough time and devotion to make unusual cakes for them like my mum did for me.

Wow. That little piano cake is beautiful. I like the tiny champagne bottle.
It's obvious that your mom worked really hard on this cake. You can see the love that she put into the details.

Beautiful cakes! I really started enjoying making cakes for my son when he turned 3 (he's 6 now). Here are a couple of cakes that I've made for him:

My son can't decide what he wants for his 10th yet, but hopefully it will be something doable .
