Favorite Cakes?

Hey fellow bakers what are your favorite cakes to bake and why?

I just made, for the very first time, chocolate zucchini cake. It is my first cake that I have made from scratch and it was so delicious! Normally I go right for the boxed mixes.

I like the really simple (done well) cakes, such as, Victoria Sandwich, or a coffee sponge. I'm also a huge fan of banana cake, and occasionally a lemon cake. There are so many I can hardly choose between them. But I do have the same few that I make over and over again.

Banana cake, carrot cake and orange cake would have to be on the top of the list of my all time favorites; not only are these cakes very tasty but the baking procedures are very simple and easy to follow.

My favorite cake to bake is a chocolate cake and it's because I make it straight from the box. It is almost always perfect and who doesn't love perfection?
