I watched this video some years ago on Craftsy.com. I covers pretty much everything you need to know about cake delivery. I thought I knew a lot, but I still learned a few tips and tricks from this video. There is a paywall, but if you purchased a video from Craftsy in the past, you can access the site free for the next month. I haven’t rewatched this video, but if I recall, she used a standard piece of non-skid rug pad in the cake box. I don’t find that works well. I would recommend using a silicone mat, like a silpat which is larger and has excellent grip.

That video sounds like a great resource! I haven’t seen it myself, but I've heard good things about Craftsy courses, especially ones like this that cover the nitty-gritty of running a cake business. I totally agree with your suggestion to use a silicone mat instead of a non-skid rug pad. Silicone mats like Silpat really do have a stronger grip and are easier to clean, which is always a plus when you're dealing with cakes. Thanks for the tip—I'm going to look into getting one for my next delivery! Have you used other tricks that work well for transporting cakes?

Thanks for the tip! "Cake Logistics From Start to Finish" sounds like a great resource, especially for those new to cake delivery. Even for us seasoned bakers, there's always something new to learn.
