Hi, everyone! I’m hoping someone can help here. I have a cake in the oven and I just realized that I added 1/3 too much flour. (I should have realized I did something wrong when the batter was thicker than normal.) Is there something I can do after it comes out of the oven to moisten it?

Actually, I saw another site that said to brush on a milk wash of milk and vanilla, and it was fine. But thanks for the advice.

Moisten it with simple syrup. 1 part water to 1 part sugar by weight. Heat until the sugar dissolves, let cool. Poke holes in the cake with wooden skewers and pour/brush the simple syrup on and into the cake.

Don’t throw it out.
