Saying Hello

Hello,
I just joined and wanted to say hello. I used to bake some on the weekends when I found something that looked like it would be delicious. Sometimes it was, others.... not so much. Probably cause I didn't know what I was doing. So I joined to have somewhere to ask questions if it didn't turn out quite right and maybe get ideas on how to do something differently.
I have a question about yeast. All the recipes I've seen that uses yeast have you add the yeast to your liquid and sugar and then waiting a bit to see if it foams. The one I am looking at now is asking to mix all the ingredients together at the beginning , then covering and waiting an hour for it double. The recipe is for blinis if that matters.

A belated hello and welcome from me!

Regarding yeast, different people prefer different approaches - try both methods and see which you prefer :)
