Ok, since Becky hasn't been on here in a while (not that I've seen), time to check up on her!!!!

How you doing? Everything going as planned? You feeling any better?

You are very lucky to have a good hubby to take care of you. When I start having problems with my back, I end up laying in bed for a day or two.......don't have anybody to help me out. Of course, yours is more severe than what I have.

Hope the doctors are doing what needs to be done!!

Here's a pretty Fall cake for you...........
(well, it's fall here in the states, LOL)

Hey @ChesterV! Always nice to hear from you :) Not much news here I'm afraid, same old same. We're waiting for the neurologist to speak to the radiologist about the type of scan needed, but they've both been away at different times which has held things up. Hoping for some news next week!

Hope you're doing well. That autumnal cake looks amazing! Wish I had the skills to decorate a cake like that. You've made me hungry now... :D

I sure am! He has been awesome :)

I played nurse for my sister recently. She was literally crawling as her back was not allowing her to stand. I have to see what the Xrays reveal.

I hope there is some progress soon @Becky. That cake from @ChesterV would be great for a recovery party..

Becky, I really feel for you. I can relate to back pain and waiting for answers. Have been down that road. Currently, it's neck and shoulder pain and it's becoming chronic, but flares up. I'm trying a series of stretches/poses in the hope that I can realign things. It's livable, and the pinched sciatic nerve problem I had in the past was much worse. Hope you get some help soon with the specialists.

Time to check up on you again!
Are you doing any better?

Have things progressed, or are you still waiting to hear from the doctors?

Hope it's all going the way you want.

Hey everyone, thanks so much for the warm wishes! :)

I had some scans at the end of October, and I'm currently waiting for the results. A spinal fluid leak specialist in the US has agreed to review my scans for free, which is great news. So it's starting to feel like things are moving which is a relief.

Hope you're all doing well, I can't wait to be back here again xxx

Hi @ChesterV! Hope you - and everyone else here - had a great Christmas and New Year :D

We're slowly getting there... it looks like I do have a spinal fluid leak, and I'm due to get treatment within the next few weeks. So fingers crossed it goes well! I've been unable to be upright for more than an hour a day for the past 7 months now! Can't believe it's 2018, how did that happen?!

Hope you're all well and I look forward to being able to catch up properly in the not too distant future :)

Hi @Becky! I'm very glad to hear that you will soon get treatment. That's great news! I can't even begin to imagine what you've been through in these last 7 months. I pray that this treatment works and that you have a speedy recovery.

Happy New Year! And may 2018 bring you and everybody many blessings, health, and joy!

Hello everyone! Thought I'd pop in and give you a bit of an update :)

I had the blood patch yesterday and it seems to have gone well! I still have a headache, but given the fact that my symptoms have been going on for months it may take a few days to notice any improvement there. During the procedure itself I had what I can only be described as a whoosh of clarity! I've had really poor concentration, so it's nice to feel on the ball again. The effects may only be temporary, but the fact I've had some positive changes is a great sign - hopefully I'm finally on the path to recovery.

I have to take it easy for a while, but assuming the improvements continue I should be able to gradually increase my activity levels. Can't wait for life to get back to normal again!

Hope you're all doing well :D

It sure has, I can't believe how long it has been going on for! I feel like 2017 passed me by...

I've been watching a lot of YouTube videos, including lots of baking videos, so my mind is full of ideas for things I want to do when I'm better :D

Oh no sorry to hear that! I hope you're feeling better soon. Is your diabetes causing you problems?

Well, it is diabetes related.
My joints and bones hurt constantly now, and it's hard to get around sometimes. The Dr. just tells me "exercise more", but it's too painful to move to even get up and down from a chair most days.

The diabetes has also made my allergies a lot worse, which is the problem I'm having at work, because some people up there saturate themselves in perfumes and lotions and it pretty much feels like acid in my face and up my nose, and they refuse to do anything about it.

So having all of this is just running me down, and I just don't want to do anything or go anywhere anymore.

Ah I'm really sorry to hear that. Have you looked into exercises you can do while seated? It's often difficult striking a balance between getting stronger (which obviously helps with a lot of problems) but not causing pain/injury whilst doing so. I'm just doing very basic exercises because my muscles have all turned to jelly!
