Are there any websites where I can buy custom cakes and pastries online?

No, not in the US. There are no websites in the US because it’s illegal to sell perishable food made in a home kitchen online here.

Perishable food has the potential for developing bacteria that cause food-borne illnesses during and after preparation due to:

• Improper cooking temperatures
• Improper storage temperatures
• Dirty and/or contaminated utensils and equipment

In the US, nearly every state has Cottage Food Laws that regulate 1) specific list/type of foods that can be produced in a home kitchen; 2) how sold from a home kitchen is sold to consumers; 3) type of licenses required to produce and sell food from a home kitchen; 4) federal labeling law requirements for food produced in a home kitchen; 5) maximum annual income earning allowed to qualify as a cottage food operator.

Home kitchen prepared food is never allowed to be sold and shipped over county and state lines for public health reasons. And too, a local government only has jurisdiction within their county, so they cannot approve shipment of home kitchen prepared food outside their jurisdiction to another county/state.

There are currently five states that offer Internet sales with shipping. Idaho, Kansas, New Hampshire (you must apply for a Homestead License), NY (only within the State of NY) and NC.
