I am a novice baker. I baked a very difficult (for me) cheesecake for the holiday last night. It looked like it came out great. I refrigerated it and then had to move some stuff around in the fridge and forgot to put it back in. It was left out for about 6 hours before I realized and got it back in the fridge. Can I serve it? I really don't want to throw it away after all that work but I also obviously don't want anyone to get sick. A friend of mine that worked at a bakery and catering hall said I should be fine b/c in her experience they have been left out for longer periods of time. HELP!

If it's a baked cheesecake, then it can stay in a cool spot on the counter for two or three days.
I wouldn't worry about a few hours, unless it was in a hot space.
