Several years ago, a lady gave me a kind of Friendship Cake, and it was made from cans of fruit that you soaked for maybe a week, with lots of sugar in it, and then used it for the cake , and gave away a cake plus a starter of the liquid to someone so they could make the cake, too.
It was the most delicious cake I have ever eaten, but I ended up moving cross country, and lost the recipe in the move.
I remember it had cans of peaches, fruit cocktail, pineapple, and I think apricots in it, and you added the starter, some sugar, and stirred it every day in a gallon jar.
Does anyone know how to make this cake ?
