Mud cake fails

Hi all, lately my kid cakes are failing. I’ve not changed anything in my technique and they seem to shrink and distort. They never used to and my regular butter cake sponges still come out perfect, it’s just mud cakes that have stopped working. Am I doing something wrong that I don’t know about? Pics attached. Thanks in advance!
