What's your "go to" cake when baking for a special occasion?

Say you decide to make a cake for someone's birthday or to celebrate another special event - what kind of cake do you tend to go for? I'm a suck for a good Victoria sponge myself and I'm quite good at making them, so I usually make that. Sometimes I add in strawberry flavouring as well and use strawberry jam, to make it a strawberry sponge. I also make a good chocolate orange fudge cake, a recipe I made up myself which I'm really proud of - it's essentially just a chocolate fudge cake, but with orange flavouring in it and with marmalade sandwiching it together. It tastes like a giant gooey Jaffa cake!
